Hello!

I'm about to purchase the Captivate 2019 but have a question before I buy it. What are the recommended file sizes for 360 video to be used in Captivate? What do I need to consider when I'm prepapring my 360 videos that I'm going to use in Captivate?

Thanks!

Thank you Lilybiri for your advice. I am indeed a beginner! And I agree, I need to start from the basics. I need an online course I think - any recommendations?

Since I am a trainer, and not really like canned trainings (never took them myself, nor did I ever buy a book, because find most of the useless), I will not answer your question.

Too much depends on your personality and needs, on your past experiences with software applications and with 'learning/training' which is often ignored.  Many have asked that I write out my view on software training, and especially about Captivate training.

Not so easy to answer. About the file size: will you deploy for mobile devices? IThat is a big difference compared with deployment on deskotp/laptop screens.

I have been exploring 360 slides (which can be in a normal Captivate project) and VR projects. You can find some recommendations in these blog posts:

You cannot have a 360 image in a fluid box. Youcould publish as Scalable HTML but the hotspots can become too small to tap on them on mobile.

Be careful when starting with responsive projects, reflect before starting them: do you really need the project to be responsive or would a rescalable HTML project do the trick. Too many newbies start immediately with a responsive project, without first mastering the basics of Captivate. Responsiveness adda a suppplementary level of complexity which is too mucn underestimated.
