Captivate 5 on Mac not publishing to MS Word

Using Captivate 5 on Mac OS 10.5.8 and have Word X (10) Service Release 1 installed.

I get the following message when trying to publish a project to MS Word:

Publish to MS Word failed Retry after ensuring that

- The document is not open.

- You have installed Microsoft Word

Neither of the above circumstances is the case (document is not open, and Word is indeed installed)

I hope that someone can help with a suggestion.

Just tried it on my Macbook and no problems.  I am using Word version 12.2.4.  I did have to relaunch Word after the process and open the published file.

Thanks for letting me know your Word version. I'm using version 10. When I get a chance I'll try testing with a newer version of MS Word to see if the problem persists.

I was able to output handouts and export captions but that stopped working yesterday. Also, it was painfully slow as it built stuff in Word. I would hope they allow to work with Pages. Seems so strange you need Office for certain functions.

It still feels like a beta product, but I guess it is 'bata' than nothing.

Yes, I think it's likely that many Mac users don't use Microsoft Office.

Which version of Microsoft Word do you have? My version is old and I'm wondering if that is why I'm getting error messages.

    Adding to my post --

I got a similar message when choosing File > Export > Project Captions and Closed Captions:

"Failed exporting captions. Check if MS Word is installed or document is already open."
