Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I have a video with Closed Captioning, and I can't find a way to make the CC toggle button visible on the player?

Thanks in advance for any help, much appreciated!

The CC button in the playbar is part of the skin, and only available if you have created the CC in Captivate. That type of CC needs to be synchronized with Captivate's Timeline. Consequence: only slide video is in sync, event video is playing independently of Captivate.

The most recent release is 11.8.1 but that is only available at this moment for Windows. Are you on Mac?

See.

How did you insert the video: as event video or as slide video?

For a custom toggle CC button, have a look at:

Multiple Toggle buttons with ONE Shared Action - eLearning (adobe.com)

Please try to mention the exact version you are using, full version number as can be found under Help, About Captivate.

Thanks so much for the speedy reply, Lilybiri!

I am using event video, and it's all working fine in that regard. I have the default 'Play, Pause, Stop and Volume' buttons that come with the player, and was just assuming that if I dropped in video with Closed Captioning embedded, I could activate the CC button? Perhaps not...

I created the Closed Captioning file in Premiere, and it seems to be working fine.

Thanks for the link, that looks really helpful. I'm afraid it's a little out of the scope of this project, though. Worst case scenario I'll just export the video with the CC on as a default.

I'm using the 2019 Release (11.8.0.586) which I believe is current.

Thanks again for your help, Lilybiri, I really appreciate it!
