Question

I get a big $ sign with PowerPoint import to Captivate 8

I am using Captivate 8 on a Windows computer.

After I created a Captivate presentation from PowerPoint I get a very large $ sign in the center of the page.  Has this issue occurred with anyone else? is there a solution for it?

Edit: Since I have read online articles talking about the issues that Captivate has with importing PowerPoint files, as well as my own issues, perhaps we should not use this feature any longer.

Hi There,

Can you please confirm if you are facing this issue with a specific PPTX or have you tested with other PPTX as well? Also confirm the point version of Captivate 8 you are using by navigating to Help menu -> About Adobe Captivate?

You may also try to recreate the preferences of Captivate 8 by navigating to the location "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 8 x64\utils" and run CleanPreferencesWin.bat file by double clicking on it and then try to import the PPTX again and see if that makes any difference.

Regards,

Ajit

I never did see this appear on the forums. Cannot help you, as you probably heard, I never use PPT import in Captivate.

I'm going to tell my Supervisor that importing PPT into Captivate is just not worth the hassle at this point.
