Hi all

I am trying to accomplish the following in Captivate 9 and I am wondering whather anyone can give me a little help in this direction......

I have a glossary interaction which contains key terms for a small learning activity. Within a text caption or on a picture I wish to put a link to the glossary and pass a variable which will automatically locate and display the term on which the learner clicked. they will then be able to close the glossary as usual and go back to the text. I can provide a link to the glossary for the whole course and ask the learner to search but I would like to provide this alternative option.

I think I need the variable name for the search box on the interaction which I will then try to figure out how to use but I am not sure.

If anyone can help then I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Brian

If you talk about the including Glossary Learning interaction, this will not be possible. Its design doesn't have a possibility to locate a term in the Glossary, and it has no associated variable. Sorry to disappoint you.

    Thank you for this answer.

Yes this is the glossary learning interaction.

When the interaction loads I have the option to type a word into the "search" box and the glossary moves to this point in the glossary. My assumption was that the text input here would be used as a vairable.

So I am able to locate a term using search on the interaction. Are you saying that I am unable to step into this search process by passing a variable to the interaction or that the interaction does not use a variable to do the search.

    Thank you

Not within a learning interaction: you cannot use a variable, it will accept only text because that is what it is designed for.

Be sure: variables do not have many secrets for me....look at my blog.
