No, I'm sorry. Nothing has changed to Quiz setup since quite a number of versions. Last change which I remember were the Review navigation buttons which appear during Review, replacing the old confusing situation where the Skip button had to double as Next button in Review mode.

I have no idea if it is possible with JS. It can be done with custom question slides, slides built with standard objects, variables and advanced actions. It is a lot of work, have many blog posts about custom questions.

Sorry, but that is not possible with the default quiz design. Retake button will always clear all answers, incorrect and correct answers, and user has to retake all of them.
