Self paced learning doesn't work in Webspace

I am currently working on a project for a client who needs to host the course in a webspace on the company's intranet. Since no LMS is involved, we currently opted to save the course via the self-paced learning option in the TOC settings enabled. Yes, I have deactivated the send data to LMS option. And when testing in Captivate via Test in Browser, everything seems to work and flags set in the TOC are still set when revisiting, plus the course opens on the last completed chapter, as wanted. But as soon as our client installs the HTML5 package on their webspace, the flags are not set when reloading, and the popup to resume also doesn't show up. I've checked the browser settings of my client, all cookies are enabled. Is anyone familiar with this problem and can help me find a workaround or fix the issue of the self-paced learning not working? I am working with Captivate 2019.

You can certainly use CpExtra to save data to Local Storage. But that should not be necessary because it's fairly rare for Self-paced Learning bookmarking not to work as it should.  IF it doesn't work, the usual reason is that LMS Resume Data is also turned on and the two types of bookmarking get into conflict.

Can you please show a screenshot of your TOC settings so that we can just verify for the record that Self-Paced Learning is selected?  And also show us a screenshot of the Quiz > Reporting dialog to confirm that it is definitely turned off and you have not inadvertently published still to SCORM.

If those two pieces of information are proven correct, then the next test is to find another web space that you can use to upload the same Captivate HTML5 content to test whether Self-paced Learning bookmarking works there.  If you do NOT have access to an alternate web server, then send me a personal message and I might be able to test it out on my own server.

That is a surprise for me, Rod. If you don't turn on Reporting, it is still possible that its Advanced button settings do bump unto bookmarking by TOC? There is no LMS involved as the OP wrote at the beginning.

You know that I am always eager to learn, also about CpExtra, thanks for helping.

As far as I know if LMS reporting is turned off in Quiz Settings then there should be no conflicts between the two types of bookmarking.  I just wanted to confirm with the OP that they had not just uploaded the SCORM HTML5 package.  I prefer to confirm all the easy things to check (Self-paced learning is ON, Resume Data bookmarking is OFF, any other web server shows the same issue) before diving in any deeper to debug this problem.  It's not usually all that difficult to get Self-Paced Learning bookmarking to work.

Bookmarking by TOC is using local storage, which means the course needs to be accessed from the same system.

Can you tell the full version number of Captivate, because CP2019 covers three main releases and multiple patch releases. You find that number under Help, About Captivate.

Hi Lilybiri, thanks for your reply (i've read your name so many times in this forum before, thanks for your community support). I'm using Version 11.8.0.710.
Sadly, I neither have access to the webspace itself nor can I visit the course since I don't have intranet access.
Do you have any knowledge if using CPExtra could help make the saving work with local storage, or is this basically the same approach self-paced-learning would take if it would work?

Thanks again!

You are not using the most recent release, which is 11.8.1, see this announcement,

I cannot confirm if the wonderful CpExtra widget could solve this. I hope that Tristan or Ward pop in to your question. You may already know that I don't use the 'wonderful' lightly, due to my legendary honesty.
