The timing of smart shapes appearing on interactive video is delayed if the user fast forwards the video

I have an issue with interactive videos and the timing of smart shapes appearing.   My setup is this:

  1. I have a video 1:30 in length
  2. There are button graphics in the video that appear after 1:00
  3. I placed transparent smart shape buttons over the button graphics to appear after 1:00

This works great if the user plays the entire video.  The problem is that if the user fast forwards the video, the smart shapes do not appear until 1 minute elapsed time has occurred.  So in effect the video starts, the user fast forwards to the graphic buttons on the video in say 5 seconds.   They start the video at that point.  Now the graphic buttons are visible but the clickable smart shapes and hover cursor do not appear for another 55 seconds.   The user will stop and say they were not able to click.

Isn't there a simple solution to this?  I am playing with advanced actions to use system variables to get this to work but without success thus far.    Please assist if you are familiar with this scenario.

Thanks

That is the problem: event video plays totally independent of the Captivate timeline, the shape buttons are linked to that timeline. You will have to use synchronized video to achieve this.

I suppose you are inserting that video (it is not a video demo?) in a cptx-project as multislide synchronized video?

Hi Lilybiri, thanks for responding, it is a single slide Event video.
