Add Script / Dialog Window - Teleprompter Style

I use Character Animator every week for our YouTube Channel - Talking to Mormons.

Thank you guys for all your hard work and all the great new features.

I have a suggestion - can you add a Script / Dialog Window that we can use within Ch.

Some useful features would be the ability to have the script automatically scroll while recording.

I currently use MS Word and have used some teleprompter apps. But with the new version of Ch once you start a recording and click on a window outside of Ch the recording stops. Not cool.

The ability to move a script / dialog window next to the camera and Scene window would be tremendously useful, even if I had to scroll with my mouse wheel (on hover).

Are you using 2.0 or 2.0.1? I think we fixed the issue of the recording stopping when switching apps in 2.0.1, so that should help.

Also, interesting idea about the teleprompter. The idea of having a script associated with a scene has come up, but just hasn't been done yet. One use for that would be to provide a guide when recording as you describe here.

Interesting idea - there is a special area for feature requests that might be a good place to copy this. Links are at the top of the forum.

E.g. someone submitted the “losing focus should not stop recording” request there, and I think that will make it to the next release. (You might like to vote for it if you can find it to help it along.)

One trick that was discovered is if you use the count down timer, you can refocus the window while counting down then it will all keep going until you refocus that window. That is, the window gaining/losing focus seems to stop the recording - I think an oversight rather than a feature. But during the countdown timer (the 3, 2, 1 bit) its not recording yet, so if you lose focus before that you will be fine... as long as you are happy with I think webcam and midi keyboard events (no mouse or laptop keyboard will work without the window being focussed).
