Question

Are There Auto-Triggers?

I just watched the great beginner tutorial linked below and was able to get my Illustrator character into the blank template. Very exciting. I added the IK feature to help with the arm bending. Question I have, is it possible that when the elbow flips that the hand also auto-flips? Seems like this would be very helpful. Haven't actually animated anything yet, just the camera tracking thing, but if my arm moves up and makes the character arm move/bend up the hand should flip. Thanks for any tips.

There is a way, but I would suggest that you get a little more used to CH before diving into it because it's a bit advanced. I'll show it to you anyway and let you decide. The technique is Autoswap and it allows the program to switch limbs depending on the position of the part. Once you get accustomed to using "leader/follower," you should have no trouble with it.

Thanks for that link. Yeah, I'm new to CH, but not to advanced rigging themes. I'm very experienced in 3D and have done a little character work, so it was an easy transition so far. If I remember, I'll post the results when I'm allowed.

Great, I'd love to see it.
