Arm IK finds every handle, doesn't work though

I have a quite simple puppet, with only one view, no head turns, just the front. Just like in Dave Werners Tutorial I added Arm IK to the top level puppet. Every bodypart is found, just once, like it needs to. But it does not work. I can stretch the arms to infinity and beyond and elbows cannot change direction. Does anybody see a mistake? Where can I start my search?

OH MY GOD GUYS! For real? Arm IK does not work if you put a dragable Handle on the hand, instead of making the wrist dragable. I love the opportunities Character Animator gives me, but sometimes you really drive me nuts

So, if youhave the same problem: DO NOT add more handles to your arms.

Thank you for discovering the solution. This has been driving me nuts! Adobe should fix this for sure, but at least there is a workaround.
