Question

beginner trigger tutorial basic triggers not working

Hello all. I'm a beginner in Ch Animator, using Windows 10 pro, I'm following the tutorials, for Triggers, we are to down load the Beginner Trigger lesson, and then double click on scene 1, key #1 lights up a yellow circle (ok), #2 a blue circle (mine lights up both blue and yellow) #3 three circles (ok) #4,#5 hand positions (ok) #| hand flip (nothing), I've tried all the other number keys, and nothing....

Then when I double clicked on Puppet 1 basic triggers, the basic triggers are set as per the tutorial, just 2 and 6 don't work as set up

Any ideas? Is this important? I wasted an hour and 20 minutes on support for this, only to be told they aren't trained in workflow, and got the same results as me... this is not the first time what the tutorials show and my results doing the exact same thing don't coincide.... I realize they might be based on older versions,

thanks

I just went through the tutorial again and although it's using an older version, the main parts should still work. You said 2 and 6 weren't working for you?

I did notice 2 does seem to light up both the blue and yellow circles by default - not a big deal, it just has an extra layer associated with it - easy to delete by clicking the "X" next to it in the bottom of the Triggers panel. We can fix this file to work correctly for the future.

6, on the other hand, seems to be working fine to me, and should be set up exactly the same as 4 and 5, so I'm not sure why that one wouldn't work. It's a subtle change - the thumb goes on the other side. If you can post a screenshot or video of your rig mode with 6 selected in your triggers panel we might be able to help diagnose it more.

Hi, thanks very much for your response. It all started to make more sense once I kept going through the tutorial. When I rigged the circles myself as per the instructions, it worked fine, but not the 6 however, when I changed it to 7 it did work.... same for lesson 2, so at least on this computer I guess I'll avoid 6 -which is a bit weird, it's not an old laptop or anything, and it types 6, hmmm.

Thanks again,
