camera goes to pause after lip sync

i'm using lip sync audio and want to add the head movements.  i have done this many times before with no problems.  but now anytime the lip sync plays, the camera is paused so you can't record head movements.  This is a new puppet and there are two things different, 1) added nutcracker jaw and works great in the lip sync, and 2) when setting the sync in timeline, it says 'take 3' as opposed to the compute for lip sync.  any ideas would be greatly appreciated.  thanks in advance.
