Camera was working but now isn't

Hello! I was using adobe character animator and also using my brand new Oon. camera, 1440p surf, and all was going well. I made my puppets and rigged them, along with testing them out in the character animator program. I minimized the window and opened Chrome, and when I reopened Character animator, I recieved the message, "Waiting For Camera". I have reinstalled the program twice now and restarted my computer several times. Now every time I open the program, it will flash like its trying to work, then I recieve the message again. PLASE HELP! This problem apeared out of the blue, and I dont recall doing anything out of the ordinary.

I'm not familiar with the Oon. camera.  Can you provide a link?

 

If the camera vendor provides driver software, did you install it?   Sometimes camera drivers can help, and sometimes they can interfere with the built-in Windows camera driver that often works better.   So you might try uninstalling the camera driver to see how that works for you.

 

Some webcams require a lot of power and can be flakey if plugged into a USB port that doesn't provide enough power.  You might want to try plugging the camera into a different port (preferably a USB 3.0 port if you have one), or possibly a powered USB hub.

 

Also, if you are Windows please try using the built-in "Camera" app.   If the Camera app is seeing your camera then Ch should see it as well.   If not, Ch likely won't see it either.

It's strange that it was originally working and then stopped working for some reason.

Do you have any other webcams you can test with, built-in or USB, to see if it is a camera specific issue?

    CH won't share the camera with other programs, especially programs like Zoom. Make sure all other programs are closed before starting CH and see if that makes a difference.

    I have done all that and sadly everything else is closed and I have even uninstalled any other apps that may use my camera.
