Can a puppet leave and reappear at a later time?

I'm a songwriter of children's songs. Some of my characters (puppets) leave during verses and then reappear for choruses.

Besides creating a second puppet, is there an easy way for a puppet to disappear and then reappear?

    Here's an easier way --

    Do all the recording you want to do, then when that's done record each puppet with zero opacity. You can then split and/or copy the zero opacity takes and position them wherever you want the puppet to be invisible.

    I have found Jerry’s second suggestion (opacity) best to avoid too many puppets etc. Its under the Transform behavior. Just record a 0% value to hide it (as Jerry said).

    You can select the puppet in the timeline, and then choose Edit/Split (Ctrl+Shift+D on a pc). This will split the puppet's take at the cursor. You can do this as often as you want, and then delete the splits wherever you don't want the puppet to appear. As you will see, each split adds another presence to the puppet in the scene -- pretty much like adding the puppet. The only advantage in using split is that the behavior settings stay the same for each instance.
