Can't hear audio while recording face performance

I imported prerecorded dialogue and was happily recording my face performance earlier today. I just now reopened my project and hit the record button and I can't hear the dialogue anymore. I can hear it on playback, just not when I'm recording a performance, which is kind of crucial. None of the audio tracks are muted, the microphone and lip-sync buttons are turned off. I've tried closing and restarting Ch as well as restarting the computer. I'm running on Mac Mojave 10.14.4. Any help is appreciated!

Update! I found a workaround. I hit play FIRST then hit record as the playhead was moving. It's not super accurate, but it seems to work for now.
