Question

Cannot Connect Lip Synch Visemes to Puppet

1. I created a project.

2. I imported a puppet, drug it into the scene.

3. I created a WAV file, and imported it.

4. I copied/pasted the transcript for the WAV file into its properties.

5. I can see the puppet track and the WAV file track in the timeline.

6. I selected the WAV file in the Timeline, selected the puppet in the Project window.

7. I selected Timeline > Compute Lip Synch Take from Audio and Transcript.

8. Character Animator created a Visemes track.

9. When I select the Visemes track in the Timeline, it automatically also selects the puppet track.

10. I play the scene, and the puppet's mouth does not move.

How do I connect the Visemes track to the puppet?

Try other default puppets for the same symptoms.
If the mouth doesn't move the same way, maybe you're doing it differently?
If the other puppets work, maybe there is a problem with the puppet you are using.

Thank You.

I just used this same puppet in a different project earlier today. My guess is that there is some obscure setting somewhere that I don't know about. Like I said, when I go into Rig > Behaviors > Lip Sync, all values are set to zero and I can't change any of them.

First of all, check the visemes track. Is it visible? Are there actual visemes generated (if you zoom in, you should see individual visemes such as "Aa" "Ee" and so on in the timeline). Make sure that the Lip Sync behavior is active in the properties panel. If none of that has any effect, let us know.

The visemes are real visemes.

The Lip Sync is enabled in Properties > Puppet Rack Behaviors > Lip Sync. Audio Input is selected by default. The puppets mouth does not move whether or not Audio Input is enabled.

I am the same guy as the original post above.

If I go into Rig, and look at Behaviors > Lip Sync, everything is set to zero and I can't change it.

The puppet I am using is the clamation puppet named Lacy in Puppet Maker.

Thanks!

Everything except Jaw Handles should be set to 1. Perhaps something happened when you pasted the transcript? You don't really need it at this stage in the game.

The only place you can paste the trascript is in the Transcript window in the Wav files Properties group. I have found that the lip movement is much more precise when I copy/paste or import the transcript.
