Character Animator 3.4 Crashing when building scene in record mode

I can import art and rig the puppet just fine. When trying to enter record mode, the program stops responding when in the "Preparing Scene" process and gets spinning beachball. 

Uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Build 3.3.1 is working fine.
