Character Animator Project Showing Test Pattern When Imported To After Effects

When I import a Character Animator scene into after effects, I get the test pattern instead of seeing the actual puppet.

1. I made a copy project file on my desktop so it's not a shared drive/connected drive issue

2. I made sure that the Character Animator project is correctly linking to the .PSD

I've only used After Effects with CH a few times, but when this happens I double check the file location and use dynamic link.
