Hey,

Does anyone know if there is any existing or any planned release for an SDK using character animator? Or is there any way to incorporate the animation system while building an app etc...?

Any help on this would be much appreciated!

Thanks

You could use Character Animator to generate  to do create canned body movements. E.g. record one walk cycle and export as a PNG sequence (with transparencies), then superimpose and flip through the images in the app. Not as good for sure, but depends on how sophisticated you wanted to go. A bit of image scaling in your app, and moving around sprites etc, I think you could do a few things at least. (But yes, a SDK would be kinda cool.)

This is definitely something we'd love to do in the future, but there are no currently announced plans for it yet. But you can see with the last release adding shareable .puppet files that we are moving in this direction. It's not too hard to imagine a video chat app or game one day recognizing and being able to use .puppets.

could you tell us what language(s) character animator would accept in the event of sdk release?
