Character Animator shuts down when importing illustrator file

Hi! I made a puppet in Illustrator and saved it as an illustrator file. But every time I try to import this file in Character Animator, the program shuts down. Does anyone know what's the cause of this problem?

If you don’t mind sharing the artwork, you could upload to google drive etc and share a link here. I or others could try and see what happens. (Or send a direct message). I cannot try until I get home from work.

I reinstalled Character Animator and after that it worked again! So the problem is solved. Thank you for your reply!
