Character grabbing/moving object in scene

Is it possible to have a character grab and move an object in the scene?  I have a character at a switchboard that is supposed to move a cable from one port to another.  Can this be done in Character Animator?

    Not like you want yet. But you could probably figure out an okay way to do this via key triggers (trigger the ord to appear on one side, then in the hand as it drags across, then on the other side).
