Character head just does not move no matter what.

Hey guys,

I have probably animated 30-40 characters in Character Animator at this point, using generally the same workflow. So not sure if this is a new issue in the updated version of the software but... All I want is a slight head movement, and slight eye movement (look around subtley) on my character. Usually this would take me 5 mins to do. But no matter how I struture my character, the head and eyes will simply not move based on camera input. I can sometimes get the body to move with the head movements (like its floating side to side) but never does the head move independently (to look natural). Here is a video of my project and what is happening. I super super curious on what I'm missing here. I'm almost convinced its a glich, because I open another older project with the same struture and it works flawlessly.

When you say same structure, did you export puppet and import it, or just follow same approach?

If i had to guess, it looks like there are handles on layers with tags on the handles, rather than tags on the layers.

Could you expand the Handles and Views etc section of say eye gaze and face behaviors. That will show what the behaviors have bound to. Can you provide a screenshot of that? My guess is there will be a colon in the path, indicating binding to a handle inside the layer instead of the layer. But the screenshot would help

Thanks for the response! When I say struture I mean I follow the same approach.

Anyway, I think that solved it. It was an issuse with the behaviours. There was no behaviour set at all for the eyes or face. I guess I never had to go in and set that at the onset in rigging. Did this change? For example, my eyes used to just connect to "Eye Gaze" automatically if I named the layer right eye or left eye. Instead now, I am manually putting that behaviour individually on each eye layer.

Either way, thanks again, you pointed me in the right direction.

For things like eyegaze you normally just have one behavior on the root. I thought i saw it there in the video. Sharing a screenshot of the handles section would help diagnose the problem. E.g. did it find the head layer? If not, then that is where to dig into. Putting directly on eye layers should not be necessary to my understanding.  I have not tried the new version yet to be honest, but i would be very surprised if they changed that level of backwards compatibility. If it bound to the head handle on the head layer, then it might fail to find the eyes because they are not under the handle.
