character puppet, powtwoons video and imovies

hi - looking for help please. i am creating a video for compliance training as part of a college course. i have been using powtoons previously and i movies also on a Mac. i would like to add a animated characted and have purchased a character puppet set via GraphicMamma. im stuck now as to what to do next. do i need to purchase character animator sforwatre. can i create the video in powtoons and overlay the character once its animated? would i do the animation in adobe character and then combine both in imovies? or am i totally on the wrong track??

any guidance much appreciated thank you

I am unfortunately not familiar with Powtoons, but yes, you need to buy Character Animator to use Character Animator puppets. Basically the way most people use Character Animator is one of two ways:

1. Record everything in Character Animator with character, background, etc. Export via Adobe Media Encoder as a finished video (MP4 usually).

2. Record just the character performance in Character Animator and export it to another program - either dynamic link to Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects, or as a PNG sequence + WAV file which works in a large variety of editing programs, which you may want to check to see if the editing apps you use support PNG sequence importing.

thanks for the input, im going to try create charachter piece, script record etc in animator, create the background in powtoons and see if i can ovelay them together in imovies.
