Characterizer only captures parts of my face

When I use Characterizer in character animator, everything works fine until my face is generated and I'm asked to choose a style.  The face that's generated is only partial.  Parts of my face are missing.  Do I need an extra bright light or a certain kind of background to make this work?

You could try a white bed sheet (or some other neutral color) pinned to the wall. CH doesn't use the camera for mouth actions, only audio, so speak clearly into your headset. Try finding a desk lamp to place behind the monitor. You'll be surprised by the difference any light can provide.

Removing clutter from the background is extremely helpful - for instance, using a plain, white wall. Good lighting is also helpful.

Thanks. I think I may have to buy something or find a creative way to prop a large white poster board behind me.  Another issue I have is that the mouths of my avatars do not seem to move much, as if they were mumbling.  But maybe I have to be more emphatic and dramatic when my speech is being recorded. Maybe the poor quality of the lighting is playing a role. I'm finding it hard to have my face clearly lighted. The ceiling light is four feet behind me and the ideal location for my lamp would be directly in front of me on my computer keyboard, which is the one place I can't put it.  And so when I use the lamp, half of my face is shaded.
