Controling my Character

Hi,

I have created a BumbleBee, and I want to be able to control my characters positioning on the background with keys. I have his body constructed well with a few clever gravity points to make his limbs seems to hang. He responds to my head movements and speech and looks pretty awesome. I even have his wings fluttering in a cycle. The only problem I'm having is that, although I can move right and left slightly by moving my head, the Bee is pretty fixed in the center of the image. I wanted him to be able to fly around the scene I have created. Is it possible to make the bee "float" around the screen and direct him towards little flowers and plants that I have set on the background? I figured maybe I could set the WASD keys to go up-left-down-right much like any video game. Please let me know if there is a way to do this is would be awesome for my motion graphic.

Not arrow keys yet, but you could drag it around. See the hummingbird example here and try to mimic that. It uses a special behavior called "Motion Trigger" that changes the orientation of the puppet depending on where you drag it. Character Animator Examples

Yeah I figured it wasn't "key-capable" yet, otherwise it would have been in that tutorial. I had watched that video prior to asking. Anyways, this should be something you guys look into! In trying to simulate the "flight" of my BumbleBee, the click and drag option just doesn't work well. If I could use my keyboard entirely to control my character while also interacting with the camera and microphone, the animation potential is endless. Or maybe adding a point and click option, where you set a speed that your character moves, and when you click somewhere, your character glides toward that spot on the scene at the speed and arch of acceleration you set. Let me know if this is something you guys have in the works!

I think you'll be happy with at least one new feature in the next release.
