Creating multiple episodes/projects without them linking to previous projects

I'm creating a series of short videos. Each episode is its own prjoect but for some reason the newest project saves over the previous project. I need to use the same assets and puppet for each episode. How can I create new videos without it somehow linking to the old one?

Can you explain what you mean by this? When Character Animator creates a new project, it's completely empty and is in no way linked to a previous project. 

You can import an existing project into a new project. This would give you access to everything from your previous project inside your new project.
