Cutting parts out of the timeline workflow

When working in a CH project is there a way to easily delete a range of everything during that block of 5 seconds or so. Here is an example. I have a large scene with many characters and they all have their own lines. During the writing process, I had a narrator reading the lines of what would happen on the screen. Now that I no longer need the narrator there are lots of long silent parts of my scene I would like to trim down. How would I do this? Would I need to go back into my daw and trim those parts out and then re-render my Visemes and line them all up?

I see there is a split option but I do not like how this creates a duplicate of that track. Is there a better workflow to do this?
