Question

Dragger Movement

How to copy a dragger movement from one part of the body to the other so it will have a same movement? Say a clapping hand, how to only have one arm moved, and then copy that movement to the other arm so it will have a same movement?

When I move it one by one, often the movement is not synchronized, such one arm is lower than the other, or one is already moving while the other hasn't, etc...

Thanks!

Oh, if you do do two takes with draggers, you can use things like blends and trimming to get them to line up better sometimes. E.g. shorten the longer of two recordings for a drag, then use a blend to smooth out the ends (grab little square in top left/right corner of the take and drag towards the middle - it blends from the underlying value to the value in the take).

I don't know if you can... I think you can copy/paste between puppets with the same dragger name (something like that), but not sure you can copy/paste between draggers in the same puppet.

For precise movements I use the Transform behavior and blends (or now keyframes). You can control exactly when the movement starts and ends using keyframes. Just put a Transform behavior on a layer (e.g. a hand) and then use Keyframes to change its position. You can then more accurately make the same change to the other hand, and get the changes to line up (the keyframes line up). That is the best answer I know of.

I don't think using transform tool will have the same result as dragging. That's because with dragger, you can have a bend with the stick/bone, but not with the transform tool. What do you think Alank?
