Embedding .AI files

I want to create 2 puppets and a background in Adobe Illustrator and bring them into Character Animator.

Is there a way to embed the .AI files into Character Animator so they are no longer linked?

Thanks.

I normally create a file per puppet and another for background, then import the three files. That will create 3 puppets which you can add to a scene. So the background is a puppet too - it just does not move much!

If you have to leave in one file, import the file three times to create 3 puppets, then in rig mode delete the unwanted parts. But I recommend creating 3 separate AI files. Less problems happen then.
