Export via Media Encoder does not work

When I try to export a scene through Character Animator, I'm told to install Media Encoder.  But I already have it installed.

I'm on Windows 10 using Character Animator 22.5 and Media Encoder 23.5.  I have ME open but Character Animator does not recognize it.

All my apps say they're up to date.  However, I do have three versions of Character Animator for some reason. The one that loads automatically is 22.5.  The latest version is 23.1.  I also have 4.47.  Confusingly, all of these versions are listed by Adobe as "up to date."  There seems to be only one version of Media Encoder and that's listed as "up to date."

23.1 is the current version. You can uninstall the others if you prefer. Exporting video via ME from 23.1 opens ME 23.5.

Make sure you are using the same version of both programs. Looks like you need to upgrade Character Animator.

I always assumed that my Creative Cloud account would automatically open the latest version.  How do I upgrade my versions of these CC programs?

In the Creative Cloud Desktop, look for "Updates" in the upper left corner of the screen. At the top menu, click on "Check for updates" to see what has outstanding updates. You can also open the help tab within the program (such as Character Animator) to click on "updates" there.

I've had the same issue today. A workaround I tried was exporting a PNG Sequence and imported the XML file into Media Encoder.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I'm not sure how that works, though.  When I export a png sequnce, it produces three files: a png file, a json file and a wav file.  What do I import into Media Encoder?
