Exporting movie does not include puppet dynamic behaviors

I have several puppets in a timeline that have dynamic and collide tags. When I export a png sequence of the scene, the puppets are not moving. Also, the puppets do not move when I view the scene via Dynamic Link in After Effects. I tried recording the physics behavior to the timeline in CH, but this does not seem to change anything.

The behaviors are set to start immediately.

Also, exporting as a mov with alpha results the same.

What am I missing here?

Thnx...

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. Getting correct puppet movement after export is usually dependent on the correct export settings.

  • Did you try to export the project in some other format like as a GIF and then test the movement?

Additionally, please check out this discussion: puppet pin animation not rendered. This user had a similar issue.

Let me know if it helps.

Thanks,

Shivangi

Indeed, this works with GIF export type. Although I then have to key it to composite it into my AE comp. My big question is why does this not work with a regular mov export or dynamic link? I exported other scenes with dynamic behaviors and it's been fine...

Could be the complexity of the scene? It does have a lot going on... basically 6 puppets all flying around the screen with collide /bounce set to 100! lol...
