Feet distorting/smearing during walk

Hi! I'm rigging a puppet with three views. The walk cycle works perfectly on one, but on the other the feet smear and distort instead of maintaining their structure and moving along with the legs. Both views are rigged the same as far as I can tell. Any idea what could be doing this?

Is Walk’s Pin Feet When Standing parameter checked? If so, does it help to turn it off? I wonder if you have two Walk behaviors applied, one set that way. Another thing to try: turn off Limb IK’s Initial Foot Pinning.
