OriginalGC and Alan are right - in CH you can only go up to 0db. Using Audition is probably your best bet for louder audio, or set your input level higher on the OS level if recording via microphone.

A quick search does not come up with any ways to adjust the volume of a track within CH. Your best bet is to edit the track in Adobe Audition and then import the track into CH.

That is what I do as well. In Audition I use I think it is "Effects" / "Amplitude" / "Normalize" - something like that. I set the DB level to 90% of max. You can also do noise reduction if you want to get a bit more fancy. Then save the audio file back to disk. Increasing volume in Audition only takes a few keystrokes (you can start it up directly from inside CH, and if you have a CH license you have an Audition license.)

The issue is CH starts at 100% volume - you have to edit and change the audio file if it is not loud enough, and background noise will be amplified as well. Hence I normally amplify and do noise reduction in Audition. (Noise reduction involves taking a "noise print" for a quiet part of the audio clip then processing the whole clip)
