How can I animate a character while playing an mp4 video as background?

I tried to import an mp4 file into CH and apparently it can't be imported.

 

I am trying to play a movie while animating texts and the character, and narrating parts of the movie.

 

I want the movie to be playing as the background of the character, and then do proper animations as the movie plays forward.

 

What would be the best way to do this?

So I noticed other people have similar requests. 

 

Since in this project I don't need complete accuracy on pointing things inside the movie, then I can just voice sync the puppet in CH, and then bring him into the movie to finish the project there.

 

I think this would do the trick for this particular project.

 

However, if I would of need more sync accuracy in relation to objects in the movie it would be much simpler to have the ability to bring movie into CH and play it as backgroud.
