How do I turn off the sound when I'm recording something else?

Right now I am trying to record about a minutes worth of work. I have already worked with the sound and gotten it the way I want it. Then it did the face and the sound showed up again (a second soundtrack) which I threw away. Now, I am doing the arms and again the sound track is rerecording itself. How do I stop that from happening?

Never mind I figured it out. You have to turn off the microphone even if all you have is re-recorded speech.
