Question

How frequently should I expect Character Animator to hang?

I get Character Animator locking up (Windows blue spinning busy disk) frequently. If I save a file in illustrator (puppet), it usually comes back in under 10 seconds, but every so often I leave it for a minute and still busy. I can also add a dangle (hang), remove a pin (hang), etc. I would get a hang every 5 minutes at least. When this happens I click the close the window cross (top right corner), wait for Windows to ask "do you want to close or wait", exit, restart, try again.

I am running Windows 10 Pro, 2 CPUs, 16GB RAM, new Microsoft Surface Pro. Seems to be spare memory etc.

Just wondering if other have the same frequently of hanging or whether there is something else I should be looking into specific to my environment?  Seems to happen with any files I try (e.g. using downloaded puppets as well as ones I draw myself).

Yeah this seems really extreme. The most I have to wait on a Macbook Pro for this kind of thing is 5 seconds. If it's happening with every puppet, even the simple ones, it seems like it might be a limitation of the hardware, I haven't used a Surface much outside of quick demos here and there, so I don't know how well it and CH get along.
