how to keep controls and behaviors from a character that I duplicated

Hi! Anyone found out how to take an existing character that is rigged with emotions/behaviors and replays - and you want to cosmetically change colors and features. I have tried unsuccessfully - it seems as though these replays and behaviors and controls need to be set up each time. Is this true?

For very cosmetic changes to simply rigged puppets, this should work. There are definitely types of changes to the underlying artwork that can cause the reconciliation process to drop portions of the rigging and require some rework, but if you're just changing the existing layers in cosmetic ways, I wouldn't expect that to happen, though there are certain puppets (the "Sticky" comes to mind) that are rigged in ways that might require fixups after artwork reconciliation.

If you don't mind sharing a project/puppet, it might help narrow down what's causing reconcile to be so disruptive.

Hi. I used Chloe Starter that already had replays and behaviors and changed the look of it in illustrator. It looks like I need to reset everything up - which I started adding the legs, arms, etc. Any help would be great! I did retry this a couple times and the same thing happened.

I'm a rank novice with Illustrator, so I just used the "Edit Original" button in the project panel to open in Illustrator and changed the colors of some of the parts and the reconcile preserved all the triggers and replays. I also added a few extra lines to her hand in a later experiment and that also reconciled without issues (the triggers and replays still work as before). These are extremely trivial changes, so maybe your changes are a bit more complex than that and somehow triggering a larger reconciliation that loses the associations with the artwork?
