Question

Mesh resolution?

Is there a way to up the mesh resolution?

When I bend my characters arm, it looks quite jagged, which could be fixed if I had more detail in my mesh.

I'm also curious how Char.Anim. calculates mesh density?  Because on my puppet, there's more mesh detail in his left hip than anywhere else  - what's causing that?

Mesh is based off a lot of things - origin position, handles, artwork sizing, etc. You might want to try playing around with the "mesh expansion" in the right properties - upping that number should give you more fidelity / more triangles.

Adding an additional handle or two, and adjusting placement (e.g., closer to the shoulder and not necessarily at the elbow) can help smooth out the faceted appearance of the bend. Enable the Show Mesh option in the Puppet panel to see how adding/moving handles will affect the mesh density. Also, you'll need to tag the handle so that it'll affect the mesh, so use a tag that's not used by any behavior you might have applied, like Jaw. Another option is to use a very short stick.
