Question

MIDI Control - how to choose port

Hi,

It is great it is possible to control triggers with MIDI, but the configuration seems to only care about the note and the port/device it originates from.  This is a major problem in a setup with several MIDI devices, hence is there any means to limit CA to only listen to a certain device/port?

Thanks in advance,

Magnus

I have no experience with using a MIDI controller with CH, but as I understand it, CH listens for ANY MIDI input on the computer, not just a specific port. According to the keyboard shortcuts for CH, you assign triggers just as you would with the keyboard, the exception being that you would select the MIDI key or knob when choosing the input. A search for MIDI in this forum should yield some helpful conversations.

The problem is exactly that CA does not care of the used Midi device, hence it requires unique non-overlapping choices to be used to avoid non-intended devices to control it. Never seen this before, as device/port and channel are part of the basic information for Midi control.
