Question

Mouth moves with eyebrows

Hi there.

I basically copied the Blank puppet from the Adobe character animator site, but for some reason my eyebrows are not moving. My mouth moves and tilts and when I move my eyebrows up and down. My mouth moves as well as my shoulders actually.

I went over the triggers but can't figure out what happened. It's like there's a trigger to tilt my mouth activated and I don't see it lol

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ^^

Normally you have one root (you have zipper and trace), and the root is normally independent. But the thing that seemed strange is the face background layer was independent. Basically, everything under Head is independent. Without seeing the artwork, it is hard to be sure, but what that may mean is all those children of Head are not attached to the rest of the character properly. Normally the face background would not be independent, so included as part of Head. Then eyes, mouth etc attach to that artwork, so if the face moves, the rest of the parts of the face move with it.

The other thing to check is there are no stray tags on the wrong layers. Open each layer one by one and check the tags in the properties panel. Stray tags or tags on wrong layers can cause problems.

Thanks! That is super helpful.

I had to basically start over again since I couldn't figure out which layers were messing up the puppet. I went through each tag and checked the behaviour settings and handles. The second go of it I also made sure to remove anything hidden or unrelated to the puppet functions and managed to rig it ok. Before I attempt anything more advanced I would like to understand things a bit better.

It works ok for a basic puppet now.

Before I attempt anything more advanced I will try to understand things a bit better.

Thank you for your help ^^
