noobie needing help building a character facing a different direction

Hi folks,

Noobie here looking for help.

I am quite experienced in photoshop & illustrator but brand new to character animator.

I am looking to create a character for my gaming channel on twitch. Id like it to be linked to my face when playing so it picks up all my expressions etc live.

I can get to grips with the basics of character animator to create a character, BUT, the basics only really cover creating a character that is always facing forward. I need my character to be looking slightly off to the side of the camera (as if hes looking at a screen). Is it possible to have my character facing this way but still copies my facial expressions? If this is possible, is there any tutorials on how to achieve this? Every tutorial for beginners that I can find just teaches you how to build a character facing forward.

Any help is greatly appreciated guys

Thanks

To be clear, you just want the character to have a single facial pose, just not facing the camera? There really is nothing additional that you need to do to set that up, just create the layers exactly as you would for a forward facing character.

The same approach is used to create a character capable of turning their head to face different directions - all that is done differently is adding a new layer to the hierarchy for each directional pose and recreating all of the facial layer parts within those layers. But if your character never turns their head, I see no reason to go through all of that.

I would like lots of head movement, and lots of facial expressions, but I just want the character to be facing slightly to the side.

thanks

If you do not need the head to change orientation from quarter profile to full profile, nothing additional is required. Simply build the slightly off center view as if it were a frontal view. CH won't mind.
