Question

Photoshop to Character Animator

Greetings. I apologize if this has been answered (I cannot find it). My changes in Photoshop are not transferring to Character Animator. I've tried many things: checked file paths, unchecked Save in Background in Photoshop, updated both programs, moved the character around to try to force update, checked Auto-sync with Artwork in Character Animator....

I'm frustrated. Please help.

Thank you very much.

How are you accessing the PSD files? If you select the puppet in Character Animator and right-click on the puppet name, you should see "Edit Original" as an option. Selecting that will automatically open the file in Photoshop (or Illustrator, depending on what program was used to create it.) Please be aware that any changes to the proportions of elements in the PSD file are very likely to disrupt the rigging for that puppet, requiring that you go back into rigging to manually restore every node. It's best to make sure you have saved a backup of your puppet file by selecting the puppet and choosing "Export Puppet."
