Problem importing chproj. file from character animator cc 2020 to after effects cc 2018

Hello

so I have character animator cc 2020 but still have after effects cc 2018. 

Importing a chproj. file into after effects is proving to be impossible even with both methods of importing. When I import from after effects, it says there’s no scene to pick from(could not import project) and when I drag straight from character animator it displays the error message (86 :: 1).

• please someone help me with a quick fix.
