Question

Puppet mouth is open when trying to record eyebrow movements

Hello,

I have a puppet in my scene and I have used the lip sync feature to sync the mouth to my pre-recored dialogue. It works great. However, I want to record eyebrow movements as a separate "track" using the camera input. When I do that it makes my character have an an open mouth and my default is closed. There are no lip sync cues recorded during the times when there is no dialogue. How can I prevent this? I set all of the controls in the face section to zero, with the exception of the tree eyebrow related items. What am I missing?

Thanks,

Troy

When you say you set the controls to zero, do you meant the property values? I would not recommend doing that. Instead, you should deselect the red dots next to properties you do not wish to record over.

If you forget to turn off (disarm) a property from being recorded, you can look in the timeline panel. It will show new “takes” (horizontal bars) for all the properties it just recorded. You can select individual takes and hit the DEL key to delete them. Recording over the top of an existing take does not remove the old take - the new take just has priority over it, so if you delete the new take the old one takes over again.

Control-click on the arm buttons can be useful to turn everything on/off (I click until everything is off, then click the individual properties I want to record).
