Question

Returning back to the start after small edits

Hi there everyone. I was having an issue with my adobe character animator project for an assignment. Actually, I have a whole 6-minute length clip that includes multiple puppets(3 to be exact). The problem that I am facing is that after every time I do a small edit such as adding a recording of behavior or engaging/disengaging a behavior, the whole scene goes back to the beginning of the whole scene. To be more specific, it stays at that time period though all the characters return to their original positions with the audio still going on their actions are being done in that reset position. This is highly inefficient for me as I have to do recordings, and edits for the whole 6 minutes, and going back to the start and watching the whole thing repeatedly until I reach my position is highly time-wasting.

Please if you know how to solve this issue, kindly do let me know. It will be a great help.

That does sound fustrating. Have you tried using work areas to segment the duration you are currently working on? If you put your playhead where you want to begin and then press Alt+i (Option+i on Mac) it will set an "In Point". Then head where you want to end and press Alt+o (Option+o on Mac) to set an "End Point". Playback should loop on that area then.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Yes, I tried doing that, but unfortunately, it didn't work. I think it might be a problem with the app itself. Now, my project is done however it took 5 times the time it should have taken due to the bug. I hope that Adobe looks into this issue, as making long projects is not all too appealing after this experience. However, thanks anyway.
