Rigging a person in a wheelchair

Hello,

I have rigged a girl in a wheelchair after following a youtube tutorial, however when she pivots, the wheelchair is supposed to keep still and not move with her body movement. Any idea why the wheelchair is not staying fixed?

Screenshots of my rig attached.

Video of the girl in the wheelchair:

I dont really understand the rig but this is what i learned from the tutorial and applied to my character:

The puppet origin should be above the fixed line

The wheelchair origin should be below the fixed line

The frontal head origin should be above the fixed line

The body origin should be very low

Thank you in advance 🙂

Hi there,
I have done a tutorial on wheelchair rigging. I think my method is:
Parent layer, origin needs to be BELOW the fixed line
Named Layer, has fixed line and origin point ABOVE the fixed line
Wheelchair should be independant and attached below the fixed line.
If things are  still wiggling a bit I usually move my origin points (either above or below the fixed line) and that usually fixes it.
Let me know if that works for you!
cheers,
Cherie

thank you. I see my wheelchair origin needed to be attached to the body (you know when it goes green), so I had to shift my fixed line up and that solved it! thank you again.
