Sitting at desk: how to freeze arms?

Hi,

I have a character sitting at a desk: arms lean on the desk. When the head moves, the body moves. But the arms keep sliding across the desk as well. In reality, the hands stay fixed on the desk and the arms bend to compensate for body movement. I tried pinning both hands with a "fixed" tag, but they still slide a little. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks!

Sander.

I found a solution that works for me:

    • don't drag the arms
    • pin the body at the hips, so the torso can move with the head
    • design multiple arm sets with a little animation. Swap sets with triggers ("typing", "crossed")
    • Don't design arms that have a large contact surface with the desk
    • Same for legs: don't drag, design alternates with little animation. This is what people do at desks: small leg shuffles :-)
