Question

Squinting eyes when a recorded motion using motion library is in use

Hello,

I have added the motion library behavior to one of my puppets in a scene where I used a walking recorded motion so the character walks into the scene. However, when the recorded piece is placed at the start of the scene, both puppets eyes are squinting or almost closed during the motion. When I move the the motion to later in the scene, this issue does not happen. I'm pretty green at using Character Animator and not sure what I may be doing wrong. I've attached a snippet of the issue I am experiencing (note: the sound is muted intentionally). Any advice would be helpful.

I have heard of this but I have not experienced it myself. Have you tried "disarming" the eyes and face while recording the motion? In the properties panel, click on the red dot so that it is off. This will turn off user input from those areas while you're recording the motion.

Thanks TheOriginalGC! I have tried so many different things, but I'm pretty sure your suggestion was one of them. I think the issue has something to do with the auto blink. When I disarmed it, the squinting stopped. So, as a work around I disabled the auto blink and created blink triggers and recorded the blinking using the triggers. I will try your suggestion again on another similar scene I'm creating with the blink trigger armed to see if I may have missed doing this. Thanks for your help!
