Question

Unable to record Eye Gaze or Dragger or Triggers

My character has multiple Eye Gaze behaviors across six sets of interchangeable eyes. I have changed the eye gaze behavior for each of these to be "Mouse & Touch input" (Camera and keyboard input are disabled across all eye gaze behaviors. On the Record and Stream pages, I am able to control the eyes with the mouse, as expected.

However, when I click the record button and then click and move the mouse inside the scene panel that holds my character, the eyes are completely unresponsive and do not move in response to clicking and dragging with the mouse.

I have tried turning off all eye gaze behaviors but one, but no change in behavior.

I have also tried to record dragger operations (like dragging the arms) while disabling the eye gaze behaviors. Nothing happens in record mode when I click and drag the puppetos arms with the mouse (the red dot next to the Dragger behavior is filled and bright red, so it's clearly enabled for the recording).

And I have also tried recording Triggers. Triggers work when I'm not recording, but fail when I'm recording.

Adobe Character Animator also seems to be unresponsive for several moments after clicking Record and again after clicking the Stop button.

I have also tried restarting Adobe Character Animator.

Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions for anything I can try? The record feature of Adobe Character Animator was previously working (but it seems to be totally failing today).

I'm still a novice at CA. Have you turned off the camera? Many times when I do triggers and what not, I have having the camera active prevents triggers and behaviors from working or working properly. I would also suggest reviewing Dave's (Okaysamurai) tutorial on eyes. I've inlcuded the link below.

I hope one of those helps you. Good luck!

Turning off the camera has no impact on my inability to record anything.
